8. THANK YOU
Welcome to this guide to installing Proper Fixes, in my opinion, the ULTIMATE MOD for GTA San Andreas. This mod is focused on fixing the San Andreas map errors, such as mapping errors, models and textures.
This mod is SINGLE PLAYER ONLY, no "Can you play with SAMP/MTA?" questions
Ready to go, Count Zero! That's right, we'll do EVERYTHING from scratch.
The first PC is the Programma 101, produced by the Italian company Olivetti between 1962 and 1964... Wait no.
If you've just bought / Formatted a PC, it's more than obvious that it's not ready to play yet. Well, we need to do a lot of things.
GTA San Andreas THE DEFINITIVE OPTIMIZING GUIDE 2025
If you just bought your PC, you'll need to configure it to have maximum performance, such as activating the XMP Profile of the RAM, Drivers, etc.
Although it sounds obvious, we must install the most up-to-date Drivers for our GPU to have maximum performance. You will download the drivers from the official website of your GPU, whether it is NVIDIA, AMD or Intel.
NVIDIA:

AMD:

Intel:

GTA San Andreas, like many games, needs DLL files to work, such as VCredist, DirectX, Redistributables. This also includes mods, as most require code that includes said DLLs.
But how do I get those DLLs?
Don't worry, fortunately Mixmods includes an article where we can find the most important DLLs and their installers, both for 32 bits (x86) and 64 Bits (x64).
Don't worry, they are all official Microsoft installers, so there are no risks.

If you're here, I assume you've already seen the complete guide to installing mods for GTA San Andreas in 2024, you've downgraded your GTA SA from Steam/Rockstar Launcher, that you have the game on Version 1.0, and the Essentials Pack installed.
In that Guide, I show you how to get the game (either through Steam Families, Rockstar Launcher, etc.).
DON'T KNOW HOW? Below you'll find everything you need:
Obviously, we need GTA San Andreas on Version 1.0 FULL for all the mods to work properly. NOT the Steam (3.0) or Rockstar Launcher (3.0) versions, these versions ARE NOT MOD COMPATIBLE.
Remember, I have a complete guide to get GTA San Andreas Classic on PC in different ways (either through Steam Families, Rockstar Launcher, and the Gokaiger favorite).
https://youtu.be/ECbrRWBUJuU
But if for some reason you have the Steam / RGL versions, you're in luck! Just downgrade the game!

As you may know, installing GTA San Andreas from its original installer will install it in
"Program Files (x86) / Rockstar Games / GTA San Andreas"
SERIOUS ERROR!
As I mentioned in my guide to optimizing GTA San Andreas, Windows is quite restrictive when it comes to changing the x86 Program Files folders, and GTA San Andreas IS NO EXCEPTION.
https://youtu.be/m5UMvc8L1po?si=aomO_XNHP87cSM8x&t=181
I recommend changing the game path, such as "Documents" or "Games". And of course, update the Desktop shortcut with the new path.
NOTE: If you have the game in the normal Steam path ("steamapps / Common / GTA San Andreas"), don't worry. Fortunately, Steam allows us to install mods in its default path (or not, Rockstar Games Launcher?)
This is one everyone knows. In case an installation goes wrong, always have a clean copy of GTA San Andreas 1.0 on hand. Always have a Backup.
This helps a lot when installing mods, as it fixes many Modloader errors and mods installed within it.

Many of the compressed files are in .7z format. They are clearly files compressed in 7-Zip. That's why I recommend you have 7-Zip installed, which is 1000 times better than WinRAR and WinZip, due to all its advantages (Open Source, better compression, more compatibility with different compressed file formats, etc.).
These are Plugins so that Proper Fixes works 100%. Pay attention so you don't say "It crashes, it tells me I need Open Limit Adjuster. What do I do?"

REQUIRED: Open Limit Adjuster
RECOMMENDED: If you're going to install RoSA Project, download the "Proper Fixes for RoSA Project" version.
RECOMMENDED: INCREASE the priority of "Proper Fixes" above "RoSA Project" in the Modloader menu.
A mod that fixes numerous bugs, such as bad textures, lighting bugs, beta bugs, model bugs, etc.

This mod enables the destructible statues in the Commerce Atrium in Los Santos. This mod is included in Proper Fixes, however it is disabled due to crashes due to problems with Modloader (Personally I have not submitted it).
INSTALLATION:
- Go to Proper Fixes / Misc / Data / .Objectdat
- Move the "Object.dat" file to the previous folder (Data).
- Perfect! We installed Object.dat successfully!

RECOMMENDED: Install the "Restored Pictures Model" Version
As the name suggests, this mod restores the UFO Bar photos from the Xbox Version, as well as fixing a bug that restores some hidden photos from the bar.
https://libertycity.net/files/gta-san-andreas/183582-fotografii-nlo-xbox-ispravlenija.html
INSTALLATION:
- Extract the mod files
- Move them into a folder in Modloader (You can name it whatever you want, in my case "Xbox Photos")
- Delete the "Original Fixed Model" folder and keep "Restored Pictures Model" which includes improvements.
- Perfect! We installed the UFO Bar Photos correctly!
To install Proper Fixes is very simple:
- Extract the mod.
- Move the "Proper Fixes" folder to the "Modloader" folder in the root path of GTA San Andreas.
- Check that we have installed "SkyGFX" and "Open Limit Adjuster" in Modloader.
The long-awaited Distant Vegetation Fix update is finally here, and the installation is as follows:
- Go to "(optional - increase vegetation distance)"
- Move the "Increased Vegetation Distance" folder to the "Proper Fixes" folder
- Delete "Procobj.dat" from "Proper Fixes / Misc / Data" to avoid crashes.
- Delete "Procobj.ide" from "Proper Fixes / Map / data / maps / generic" to avoid crashes.
- Delete "vegepart.ide" from "Proper Fixes / Map / data / maps / generic" to avoid crashes.
- Go to "(optional - increase vegetation distance)"
- Move the "Increased Vegetation Distance" folder to the "Modloader" folder.
- Increase the priority of Increased Vegetation Distance" above "Proper Fixes"
Perfect! We installed the distant vegetation!
In the video I mention that "They should increase the priority of Proper Fixes above RoSA Project". In my guide to installing mods I explain this point in a summarized way:
https://youtu.be/ECbrRWBUJuU&t=520s
How do I do this?
In that Modloader menu you will find all the folders of the mods that we installed with Modloader.
As the name implies, PRIORITY indicates which mods are the most important, in this case the larger numbers ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT
Both mods have identical files (gta3.img, gta_int.img, etc.), however, the "Proper Fixes" ones ARE THE IMPORTANT because they have the bug fixes for models, objects, and textures, which "RoSA Project" does not.
If you Don't set the Priority of the mods, they will CRASH the game since it doesn't know which one is the most important.
We have 2 options: "Lower the priority of RoSA Project" or "Increase the priority of Proper Fixes"
SOLUTION 1: We lower the Priority of "RoSA Project" from 50 to 49.
SOLUTION 2: We raise the Priority of "Proper Fixes" from 50 to 51.
In my case I'm going to modify the priority of Proper Fixes.
With the Proper Fixes Priority set the game will not crash, because it already knows which mod is the most important!
To not make the video too long all the questions will be here.
A: Most likely not. All the mods I've shown on the channel are focused on Single Player.
A: Yes, for this you must do 2 things:
1.- UNINSTALL SkyGFX Extended
We must UNINSTALL SkyGFX Extended, since it is incompatible with most graphic Mods (like "Renderhook").
2.- DELETE "ProperFixes.asi"
Go to "Proper Fixes" and delete the file "ProperFixes.asi" Once "ProperFixes.asi" is deleted, the message "Proper Fixes requires SkyGFX with BuildingPipe" will no longer appear.
The only negative point is that due to the absence of SkyGFX we will not have the animated objects (The aquariums, The Visage sign and the bubbles in Jizzy's), as well as some visual corrections (Dual Pass, Stochastic, etc.).
A: This happens because of the "BuildingPipe" configuration of SkyGFX. It is solved by changing the value "PC" to "PS2" in each SkyGFX .ini file (skygfx1.ini, skygfx2.ini, skygfx3.ini...).
For an easy fix, download my SkyGFX configurations:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1PNMOUsoCtH9GKucpHy89R1u4J-mwA1ag
A: Of course you can! In my 50 mods video we installed several mods of this type. The most important thing is that we need to configure the priority of the mods in the Modloader menu.
https://youtu.be/fPkUg4mobqg
A: To fix the lag in Proper Fixes with Project 2DFX we'll do the following:
- Open "SALodLights.ini" with Notepad.
- Find the option "VegetationDrawDistance"
- We'll change "VegetationDrawDistance" to "#VegetationDrawDistance"
- Let's change the value of "GenericObjectsDrawDistance = 1.5" to "GenericObjectsDrawDistance = 0.5"
- Let's set "LoadAllBinaryIPLs=0" to "LoadAllBinaryIPLs=1" (SITUATIONAL)
Disabling "VegetationDrawDistance" fixes most of the lag, as LOD Vegetation already does a better job of seeing trees in the distance.
Reducing the value of "GenericObjectsDrawDistance" will help with performance if you installed the "Distant Vegetation Fix" mod, as that mod does the same thing as this option.
Enabling "LoadAllBinaryIPLs" helps fix some of the "Lag Spikes" that the mod introduces with "Proper Fixes". It also optimizes the loading of binary objects (palm trees, lampposts, objects, etc.) and improves game performance.
A: That's not a question, you're not giving me any more details. Follow the Proper Fixes + Required Plugins installation instructions to the letter.
A: Reinstall it, you created a GTA San Andreas 1.0 Backup for a reason. Uninstall Proper Fixes from Modloader, including the Optional mods and RoSA Project.

https://www.mixmods.com.br/2021/07/mipmapping/
This is the end of the Gist.
Without a doubt this is the Ultimate Mod for GTA San Andreas, along with other amazing ones like Silent Patch, SkyGFX, among others.
And for the modders, you have earned all my applause and respect, you have improved this game, more than Rockstar Games itself (Or not Definitive Edition without updating?), I wanted to make this document and video to make your work and contributions to the community known.
Keep going!
ありがとうございます!
